“Everybody Loves Somebody” is a song written in 1947 by Inving Taylor and have been recorded by many artists, made famous by Dean Martin in 1964. I can’t say for certain that everyone loves someone but most people would agree there’s atleast one person they love. How people love one another is a different matter entirely. The love people have for one another is often conditional. I will love you if you meet my conditions, whatever it may be. If one or more conditions are broken, that’s the end of love.

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus commanded His disciples to love one another the way He loves us. Jesus said that the world will know we are Christians, Christ’s disciples, when we love each other with God’s love. Unlike the world, Christ’s love is radically different and unconditional. Jesus proved His love by dying on the cross for our sins, while we were far from perfect!

This Christmas, I pray that you’ll come to know Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, and that His love for you will radically transform how you love others!
