Many people work hard so that they can live well and retire comfortably. They build successful businesses and careers to afford nice homes, exciting vacations, luxury cars, and the best things in life. You could say they treasure the good life, and it’s all about the here and now. Unfortunately, many will go to any lengths to achieve this treasure, even if it harms others. Little do they realise that this treasure has a short shelf life and can be easily taken away.
To those who have placed their trust and faith in Him, Jesus has a different challenge. Jesus tells us to seek after Him, for He is the greatest treasure, One that cannot be destroyed or stolen from us. When Jesus is our treasure, our hearts align with His, allowing us to love and value things as He does. When we treasure Jesus, we will treasure people the way Jesus treasures His creation.
This Christmas, I pray you will place your trust and faith in Jesus so that He becomes your treasure, your hearts aligning with His so that you will treasure others the way He treasures you!
